Name those ducks

Oh, dear, just when you think you’ve covered all the bases. Darcey dropped by to chill today. This is name-those-ducksour favorite RL activity as well – hanging out at the beach, chatting. πŸ™‚ She scared me at first – asking what was wrong with the ducks -that they were black and green and looked like oil spill victims. Oil spill??? In MY tidal pool???? But then they finished rezzing and my heart stopped pounding. But some people just never know when to keep quiet. “So what are their names?”, Darcey asked. Names?? She is right, however. This has been a terrible oversight. The ducks NEED names. I must say, though, that Darcey’s first stab at this was pretty pathetic: Lefty and Righty for the white ones, no suggestions for the yellow. So I’m throwing it open to you all. Name the ducks. πŸ™‚

We can’t name the ducks. WE are eating lunch. πŸ™‚ Again – this is a very accurate reflection of us in RL. *I* am drinking champagne. Here’s Darcey’s lunch:

Baby Carrot : My favorite, sweet and crunchy, Darcey Twine! lunch
Baby Carrot : Mmmm, so yummy, have another!
Cracker with Gouda : Mmmm, that was yummy!
Celery Stick : So crispy and refreshing, Darcey Twine!
Celery Stick : Mmmm, that was good!
Ahuva Heliosense: LOL
Ahuva Heliosense: i dont LIKE food that talks!!!!
Darcey Twine: hahaha
Chocolate Donut whispers: mmmmmm Tasty!
Ahuva Heliosense: choc donut?????
Darcey Twine: heh, a well balanced meal if I do say so myself
Darcey Twine: celery, carrot, gouda, chocolate!

There's not much to say about me. I discovered SecondLife by accident, wandered in, and decided I wanted to stay. This blog was a chronicle of my adventures and misadventures in SL. It also includes stray thoughts that occur to me as a result of my time in SL. Both I and my avatar are female. We both love water and the beach and gardening and parties and hanging out with friends. Updating this after quite some time. I haven't appeared in SL in many many months (probably over a year by now) but SL has remained in my thoughts. I do miss my SL, but at least I still have contact with some of my friends from there. In the meantime.... this blog has evolved to be about my RL adventures. :) Nowhere near as risque as my SL but I do keep busy. I still like all the things listed above. I didn't have any cats in SL (only ducks and a panda) so my cats feel that they should play starring roles in my posts. :) I didn't do much eating IN SL although certainly food and drink accompanied me in RL while I roamed inworld. Cooking and baking have become more fun and interesting once I redid my kitchen. That renovation took longer and cost more than if I'd done it virtually, but I'm thrilled to have a tangible new kitchen! I hope you like food and drink as well! Thanks for reading!

  1. Huey, Dewey, and Louie? πŸ™‚

Talking food is amazingly common. Talking food that addresses one by one’s full name (“My favorite, sweet and crunchy, Darcey Twine!”), despite how ridiculous it sounds, is evidence of lazy scripting.

  2. I started thinking of a name,.and started salivating in thinking too hard about a chinese meal as a direction(Peking duck for example).

So the best I can offer at this hour of the night is:
    Downt, Eayat, and Mei πŸ˜›

  3. Umm…. I wish I could see these ducks someday *hint hint*

But I was thiking…. How about Eenie, Miney, and Moe.

(As in Eenie Miney Moe, Catch a Tiger By its Toes)

Hey its how I settled my indecisions over the years! :p

    hehe

    Alaska

  4. @Melissa – Wasn’t Sylvester a cat??? I think I prefer the ones you emailed me: Spartacus Splashy, Dido Duckling, and Pliny the Paddler. But I may have to go with Hell simply to honor his creativity. πŸ™‚

  5. Hell’s names are too difficult to pronounce. I like Chad’s better. Or how about these? Magellan, Columba (she’s a girl), and Quack?
