The Rooster Grows

Frenis is growing up. Whereas chickens have eggs, roosters, apparently, have anger. 🙂 I can’t keep the stupid bird out of the water. No matter where I situate him – the next time I come back, there he is, standing in the water, up against the invisible wall. Hey – if he wants shrivelled wrinkly feet, fine. I’m tired of moving him to dry land. You can see Mallory, Bill and I checking on Frenis. Drake doesn’t appear to care overly much.

There's not much to say about me. I discovered SecondLife by accident, wandered in, and decided I wanted to stay. This blog was a chronicle of my adventures and misadventures in SL. It also includes stray thoughts that occur to me as a result of my time in SL. Both I and my avatar are female. We both love water and the beach and gardening and parties and hanging out with friends. Updating this after quite some time. I haven't appeared in SL in many many months (probably over a year by now) but SL has remained in my thoughts. I do miss my SL, but at least I still have contact with some of my friends from there. In the meantime.... this blog has evolved to be about my RL adventures. :) Nowhere near as risque as my SL but I do keep busy. I still like all the things listed above. I didn't have any cats in SL (only ducks and a panda) so my cats feel that they should play starring roles in my posts. :) I didn't do much eating IN SL although certainly food and drink accompanied me in RL while I roamed inworld. Cooking and baking have become more fun and interesting once I redid my kitchen. That renovation took longer and cost more than if I'd done it virtually, but I'm thrilled to have a tangible new kitchen! I hope you like food and drink as well! Thanks for reading!

  1. haha tamagotchi chicken! 🙂

I thought the thing in the back was a duck-color-o-meter at first glance..

  2. The problem is obvious to *me*. You got Frenis as a baby. He doesn’t have other chickens around. What he does have is ducks. He thinks he is a duck. He wants to be in the water with the OTHER ducks. Didn’t you ever read Conrad Lorenz? Or, “The Ugly Duckling”? (Unfortunately, a rooster is NOT as lovely as a swan when it grows up….poor Frenis!)

  3. And now that I know about it, I’m feeling very sad about and protective toward Frenis. He’s LONELY. And he’ll never be a duck. And you are being mean to him, calling him “stupid” and not caring if he has shrivelled wrinkly feet. I think you need to get him some chickens to hang out with. Then he will be much happier. Especially when he’s more mature and cocky .

Plus you’ll have fresh eggs 🙂

  4. Or wait… isn’t this SL? Why CAN’T he go swim with the ducks? Teach him to swim! If you can have wings and fly, why can’t Frenis have webbed feet and swim?

I just can’t get over that pathetic little thing standing in the water, leaning against an invisible wall all alone, looking longingly at the REAL ducks swimming happily with their friends.

And if you can’t make him swim, build him a little boat or something so at least he can go out and float in the water near the others.
