A Hunting We Will Go!

Alright everyone – grab your inventory bags, clean off your glasses if you wear them, and sharpen up your vision! We are going hunting!! Yes, it’s that time again – time to join in one of the great hunts that take place in SL. I’m doing this despite the fact that my inventory is completely out of control. I must have over 30 objects I’ve not even opened. I do NOT chase the Midnight Mania boards anymore. (Well, if a friend NEEDS me, I go. Which explains the rhino statue. Sigh.) I unsubscribed from the DSN (Designer Showcase Network) last night. I do NOT need ANY MORE STUFF!! (Okay, I AM looking for a cooler for beer for my pool. *grin* And I bought a hawt new dress last night. Maybe I’m wrong. I need SOME stuff.

What do I need? What can lure me out on a hunt? The chance to win content from Honour McMillan!!! Both Aintree Gardens and Drama Dolls are included in the Hunt. YAY! Aintree had the great distinction of being the landscaper of record for a major SL conference back in October 2008. Trust me – these are GOOD plants! And you KNOW how I love Drama Dolls!!!!!

The hunt is the Diversity Hunt. What is really appealing (besides Honour’s content) is that I can hunt content that appeals to me – I won’t end up with lots of objects that I don’t want. Now comes the easy part of blogging – copying what someone else has already written. *grin* So thanks to Huntress Catteneo who put together this hunt, and thanks to Honour, who already wrote about it on her blog.

5 different paths, angelsWhile this will be a grid wide hunt, it will not be a big one so that the hunters get bored or give up before getting to all the shops. Start date is 08/08/09 and end date is 09/09/09. Another key difference is that this hunt will be tailored to the hunters so that they can go for the sort of items that they want. This hunt has five paths, and the hunters can do any number of them including all of them if they are really keen. The start location will have the next location for all of the paths. There will be cross over points, should a hunter decide they want to go down a different path.

The paths are as follows:

1. RED: Women’s fashion – clothes, hats, jewellery, basically anything you normally wear on an avatar
2. BLUE: Men’s, unisex, or general humanoid stuff (Neko, furries etc) – Fashion and accessories not specifically for women and including shoulder pets, wings, tails, etc
3. PURPLE: Furniture – all your normal household stuff, buildings, including such things as gazebos
4. GREEN: Plants/landscape – Plants (+ plant textures), fountains, outdoor furniture and bridges
5. ORANGE: Mystery – Textures, Art, and anything we can’t categorize elsewhere

The hunt will start at: The Tiger Peak Shop You don’t have to belong to a group to do the hunt but information will be shared in the Hunt2Hunt group and on the website (which is still under construction). At the end of each path you get a cute wearable angel. Each path’s angel attaches in a different place so you could wear all five if you wanted. 🙂

Follow the angelsAs for me: Aintree will be on the Green path and Drama Dolls on the Orange. So you know where *I* am hunting! You can see part of the Aintree store behind the sign in this picture. I LOVE the Heron!!!

There's not much to say about me. I discovered SecondLife by accident, wandered in, and decided I wanted to stay. This blog was a chronicle of my adventures and misadventures in SL. It also includes stray thoughts that occur to me as a result of my time in SL. Both I and my avatar are female. We both love water and the beach and gardening and parties and hanging out with friends. Updating this after quite some time. I haven't appeared in SL in many many months (probably over a year by now) but SL has remained in my thoughts. I do miss my SL, but at least I still have contact with some of my friends from there. In the meantime.... this blog has evolved to be about my RL adventures. :) Nowhere near as risque as my SL but I do keep busy. I still like all the things listed above. I didn't have any cats in SL (only ducks and a panda) so my cats feel that they should play starring roles in my posts. :) I didn't do much eating IN SL although certainly food and drink accompanied me in RL while I roamed inworld. Cooking and baking have become more fun and interesting once I redid my kitchen. That renovation took longer and cost more than if I'd done it virtually, but I'm thrilled to have a tangible new kitchen! I hope you like food and drink as well! Thanks for reading!
